Best bread and croissants, ever!

Fantastic coffee and great breakfast sandwiches.

Great almond croissants. Relaxing atmosphere

I recommend their omelet croissant breakfast. In addition, if you want your palate experiences heaven on earth, their is also a French pastry section in this cafe made by Azita. Well executed breakfast with a limited menu.

the crossiant is very buttery… reminds me of what i ate when i was a child from a japanese bakery in hong kong… even though we only got the drip coffee, but there were different choices to try… after trying the different choices, it turns out that i like the house blend the most… they have a dark colored muffin that my boyfriend thought it was the chocolate muffin, but it is supposed to be THE french toast muffin… it tastes just like a moist french toast… everything is excellent! i actually came back after sightseeing the neighborhood and bought some crossiant home!

Okay I'm going to say this, since my 3 years living in the US (I'm from europe) THE BEST bread I've found in the states so far! Their croissants are amazing, good coffee, fresh orange juice! It was well worth it to stop by here, simply loved it! The shop itself was also very nice and clean, loved the decorations and the staff was very friendly. Would recommend anyone to stop by here for a good breakfast!

Good food, but tables not clean

This is one of the best bakeries on the west coast. Their bread is baked daily and incredible - I'm talking made with love, incredible. You won't find better croissants outside of France and their almond croissants are magnific. The chocolate genache in their chocolate croissants leaves something to be desired and the coffee could be better, but the baked good make up for any errs they could every commit. Do yourself a favor - stop here and grab a few loaves to gift, eat, freeze, or just stare at because you'll be hard pressed to find better outside of LA or SF.

Fantastic Breakfast Croissant and baguette! Homemade bread, out if the world!

Having eaten at the bakery several times now and enjoyed their bread even a few more times I must say this is a place worth dropping into. They only do breakfast and lunch and the lunch menu is a little small but the quality is so there. There are many pastries to choose from for breakfast and they'll make your eggs or oatmeal or whatever else you might like it seems that there's something to please everybody on their little menu. Now to the breads. I must say I really like their baguettes and their other breads. It's also nice to have olive bread available anytime you want. This place is clean, nice, hip with a great staff and wonderful food. It's not fast food and it's worth every minute. Bring your friends have a coffee carry on and enjoy some beautiful croissants and more. this time I'll see you there

The brioche French toast was delicious with a lovely bowl of fresh fruit

Incredible food! Freshly baked bread, cosy environment, and friendly staff. Very happy that Back Porch opened up their own cafe.

Great find in Atascadero. The breakfast croissant (with bacon) was awesome as was the blueberry muffin, which had a nice nutmeg taste to it. We also had a morning bun (a croissant/cinnamon roll), it was not to sweet and all delicious. We may stay in Atascadero on our next trip to Paso, just so we can eat here every morning.

An excellent French style bakery. Deliciously made crusty, well browned breads. Think baguettes, multigrain, olive herb, blue cheese walnut breads to name a few. Check out thier bread of the day.Croissants, crunchy, flaky, buttery, fantastic in all sorts of flavors. Open from 7 - 4, enjoy a coffee, or latte. A small menu of breakfast and lunch item is also provided. Spacious room for enjoying your baked goods. Located in the beautiful Carlton Hotel, that's worth exploring.

The food was good. The customer service was awful NEVER going back.

Not vegetarian friendly. There were bread samples, of which I tried one. Something tasted not quite right and I saw a sign that said "bread of the day - bacon" so I asked if the sample was of the bacon bread. She said "yes, isn't it good?" I replied "no, I am a vegetarian." She replied that it is good to cheat sometimes. I said no it isn't and she said "well, it won't hurt you." Despite her personal beliefs, the correct response would be at least an apology for not clearly labeling the bread as containing bacon. Maybe a free coffee? The food and coffee are overpriced. This soggy french toast and a coffee were $15.

Love this place!

The back porch Bakery is one of my favorite places to get lunch on the hall Central Coast. They have a small selection of sandwiches which include a BLT, a turkey sandwich, and a curry chicken croissant. They are a full serious bakery and make the most amazing bread you've ever had. The sandwich selection is made with their completely amazing bread. My favorite is the BLT which is on this crunchy but light bread cut about an inch thick with wonderful bacon generously Laird with a special sauce. The great thing about having lunch here is that they have wonderful coffee which is very strong and delicious to finish off your meal. They also have a selection of desserts of the day which are all very tasty as well. They are a extremely friendly group of people and you will enjoy the atmosphere whether you sit inside or outside on the sidewalk. This is also a place where a lot of people pick up bread for the house.

I thought it was really cute and very nice! The woman was so kind and had a really cool style that complemented the bakery well!

This place is unreal. We enjoyed a lunch sandwich and picked up some side bready. I also have an espresso drink which taste amazing. Thanks!

Love this place! My wife and I stop by regularly for the ham & cheese crescents and the baguette sandwiches. Love the team there too - we always feel welcome!

Classy and welcoming. My 2 daughters and I showed up later in the day so they had less of a selection. It was enough to make us plan to return, earlier next time, for more choices.

Killer baked goods and brunchy items. Don't miss the morning buns!! Coffee is good and quite drinkable but not fabulous. A good place to get picnic food for a trip out wine tasting. Go. Eat. Enjoy

I frequent the Back Porch bakery at least twice a month. Love the service. Anita is very personable and friendly. Not to mention this fabulous pastries and food.

Wow the breads they make are nothing short of amazing. I usually go here for breakfast, you can't beat their French toast. If you are simple and just want pancakes, there are plenty of good places in Atascadero to choose. But if you want something special, definitely check this place out. And for sure get a morning bun: I've never had anything like them and I find myself craving them if I haven't been in a while.

Best BLT I’ve ever had. Sampled the Fougasse and ended up getting the whole thing(even though it may have been too ambitious for me to finish it). Can’t wait to come in again!

Great place for coffee and croissants, and excellent breads. They offer other breakfast choices, too, but the baked goods are superb.

Really friendly, really amazing quality, fast service, and the flavors! Stopped in before a tattoo appointment in the morning just looking to fill a hole but boy was I in for a surprise... got the biscuits + gravy w/eggs and Wow! I've got to say they were the best I ever had. For sure coming back. This is your local breakfast win.

This morning they were slow, seems they had been training new personal. Coffee was good, chocolate croissant was great.

Breakfast croissant was delicious and the plain croissants are the best I've ever had, crisp and flaky on the outside, light, airy, moist and buttery on the inside
